UNITED KINGDOM – Nottingham Lions ended a 1,442 day run without a win as they claimed a 5-3 home victory over Solihull Barons in Moralee D1.

Zach Yokoyama (2), Luke Thomas, Kieran Gibbs and Thomas Dermott were on target for the Lions.

The result completed a miserable weekend for the Barons who were also beaten 5-4 on home ice by Widnes Wild – Vlads Vulkanovs (2) topped the scoring for the home team.

Vulkanovs was amongst the scorers again as Wild secured a narrow 3-2 home victory over Sheffield Scimitars on Sunday.

The Yorkshire outfit had better luck the previous day as they raced to a 7-1 home win over Blackburn Hawks – Sam Rodgers weighed in with a hat-trick.

Dean Holland (2) and Steven Chalmers (2) led the way for Whitley Warriors as they ran out 9-0 winners at home to Billingham Stars.

Hull Jets enjoyed a productive weekend in Laidler D2, winning 12-1 at home to Nottingham Lions 2 and 5-2 at Coventry NIHL Blaze.

Sheffield Titans drew level on points with Telford Tigers 2 at the top of the table courtesy of a 5-2 home win over Altrincham Aces.

The Tigers booked their place in the final of the Laidler Cup with a comfortable 14-3 aggregate victory over Bradford Bulldogs.

Paisley Pirates moved up to second place in the Scottish National League with a 5-3 home win over Aberdeen Lynx – Rolands Dietlavs (3) topped their scoring.
