CINCINNATI – After falling behind 1-0, North Dakota rallied to score the next six goals in a 6-2 win over Northeastern and advance in the NCAA Midwest Regional in Cincinnati. The Huskies had been the nation’s hottest team, going 20-1-3 and winning the Hockey East to reach the tournament, but the Fighting Hawks had too much firepower.
The “CBS” Line of Drake Caggiula, Brock Boeser and Nick Schmaltz combined for two goals and four assists, while Keaton Thompson had two assists for the Fighting Hawks (30-6), who will take on No. 2-seed Michigan Saturday in the regional final.
