No sweep for Bears, Marlies force Game 5

TORONTO – The Toronto Marlies looked for a spark going into Game Four of the AHL Eastern Conference Finals with the Hershey Bears on the brink of being swept out of the series. They found it in the form of one of the Toronto Maple Leafs top prospects William Nylander. A hat trick and a shutout later the Marlies won Game Four 5-0 and stayed alive in the series still down 3-1. 2016__calder_cup_playoffs-primary-2016

The Marlies were the AHL’s highest scoring team during the regular season and Nylander why he is one of the reasons the Maple Leafs have some hope in the future. Antoine Bibeau made 18 saves on 18 shots and Toronto outshot Hershey 33-18 and held Hershey to only four shots on goal in the third period.  T.J Brennen had four assists on the night in probably the Marlies best game of the playoffs so far. The question now is it too little too late.

The Bears went 0-4 on the power play while Toronto went 3-5. The series stays in Toronto for game five to be played Sunday at 3pm. If the Marlies win on Sunday the series goes back to Hershey on Tuesday for Game Six. If the series going the full seven games it will finish on Thursday night. The winner will play the Lake Erie Monsters who reside in Cleveland.
