LANCASHIRE, UK – Whitley Warriors recorded their first victory of the season in Moralee D1 with a 4-1 success at Sutton Sting – netminder Richie Lawson (above) was amongst the scorers.
Hull Pirates maintained their 100% record courtesy of a 13-2 victory at Nottingham Lions – Jason Hewitt and Jordan Fisher both hit hat-tricks for the visitors.
Solihull Barons crashed 8-2 at Solway Sharks, but bounced back in style with an impressive 8-5 win at Blackburn Hawks.
In Laidler D2, Telford Tigers 2 won 2-0 at home to Widnes Wild, but they failed to follow up at Deeside as the Dragons secured a 6-3 success.
That result completed a four-point weekend for the North Wales outfit after their 13-6 win at Blackburn Hawks 2 the previous day.
Sheffield Senators also picked up two victories, winning 6-4 at Bradford Bulldogs and 3-2 after overtime at home to Hull Jets.
Jakub Pavlicek (4) and Jared Dickinson (4) topped the scoring for Altrincham Aces as they ran out 14-1 winners on home ice against Blackburn.
Billingham Stars had a mixed weekend in the NIHL North Cup, losing 6-2 at Hull before sealing a 5-2 home win against Solway.
Sheffield Steeldogs split their weekend series with Peterborough Phantoms in the Autumn Cup, winning 2-1 on the road but falling 3-2 after overtime back on home ice.
Telford Tigers lost 6-4 at Swindon Wildcats, but gained their revenge in the reverse fixture with a 5-3 success.

Things looking up for Whitley
It’s been a tough start to the season for Whitley, but things finally appear to be looking up for the North East club.
New Latvian defenceman Rolands Gritans should be a big hit in NIHL North, helping to strengthen a defensive unit that has been crying out for reinforcements.
The Warriors snapped their losing streak with two points against Sutton over the weekend and the mood around the club suddenly seems much more positive.
Nomanovas dismissal costs Blackburn dearly
Solihull cashed in on ill-discipline by Blackburn’s Danielius Nomanovas on Sunday, bagging five unanswered goals after the forward had been ejected from the match for spearing.
The Hawks looked in decent shape up to that point, but the game turned on its head after the Lithuanian lost his cool.
Former Blackburn forward Luke Brittle finished the game with a four-goal haul, highlighting the importance of keeping your best players on the ice.
