ENGLAND, UK – Tom Soar was the star of the show as Solihull Barons closed the gap on the leading teams in Moralee D1.
Soar bagged a hat-trick as the Barons recorded a one-sided 9-2 victory over Blackburn Hawks to move within three points of Whitley Warriors at the top of the standings.
Ben Richards (4) led the scoring for the Warriors as they ran out 13-2 winners at Nottingham Lions to edge a point ahead of Solway Sharks.
Tom Relf and Cameron Glasby weighed with a couple of goals apiece at Sutton Sting triumphed 8-5 at Billingham Stars.
Table-topping Bradford Bulldogs slipped to their second successive defeat in Laidler D2 as they were beaten 5-2 at Widnes Wild.
Vlads Vulkanovs weighed in with four goals as Altrincham Aces secured a comprehensive 9-2 win at Blackburn Hawks 2.
Altrincham followed up with a 6-5 shoot-out victory at home to Telford Tigers 2, while the Hawks completed another dismal weekend for the club as they were drubbed 9-0 at Deeside Dragons.
