NIHL North round-up: Shut-out for Bowater as Jets rout Wild, Aces run riot in Sheffield

ENGLAND, UK – Hull Jets continued their pursuit of the Laidler D2 title with an emphatic 12-0 demolition of Widnes Wild over the weekend.

Richard Haggar (2), Gowan Beddoes (2) and Andrew Ward (2) were amongst the scorers, while netminder Dean Bowater secured a 22-save shut-out.

Matt Viney hit a hat-trick for Bradford Bulldogs as they eased to an 8-1 home victory over Blackburn Hawks 2.

Altrincham Aces remain in the title mix after romping to a 15-3 win at Sheffield Senators – Vlads Vulkanovs (4) topped their scoring.

Widnes bounced back from their mauling at Hull with a narrow 5-4 home success against Deeside Dragons – Bez Hughes bagged the winner.

The Moralee D1 title race looks to be over after Whitley Warriors took four points from their weekend double-header against Solway Sharks.

Whitley triumphed 8-3 on the road and followed up with a 6-1 win on home ice to move five points clear of the Sharks with two games in hand.

Solihull Barons lost 8-6 at Sutton Sting, but returned to winning ways the following day with a comfortable 8-2 victory at home to Billingham Stars.

Bottom-of-the-table Nottingham Lions produced a much-improved performance at Blackburn Hawks, leading twice before eventually falling to a 7-4 defeat.
