NIHL North round-up: Sheffield win the cup, Widnes close in on Laidler title

ENGLAND, UK – Sheffield Steeldogs clinched the NIHL North Cup after recording a 7-5 aggregate victory over Telford Tigers.

The Steeldogs completed a successful weekend with a 9-2 success at Whitley Warriors to draw level on points with Hull Pirates at the top of Moralee D1.

Solway Sharks picked up four points from their weekend double-header against Sutton Sting, winning 19-0 on home ice and 6-4 on the road.

Blackburn Hawks won 4-0 at home to Nottingham Lions and followed up with a 9-2 victory at Billingham Stars.

Widnes Wild are just one point away from clinching the Laidler D2 title after sealing an 11-3 home win against Hull Jets – Daniel Bullock (3) topped their scoring.

Filip Supa bagged a hat-trick for Telford Tigers 2 in their 6-3 success at Deeside Dragons.

Stephen Weeks (2), Tom Humphries (2) and Lewis Otley (2) were amongst the scorers as Sheffield Senators won 8-6 at Altrincham Aces.
