ENGLAND, UK – Billingham Stars rounded off their NIHL North Cup group games with a 6-5 shoot-out victory over Murrayfield Racers – Tomas Rubes bagged the deciding goal.
Whitley Warriors completed their opening phase fixtures with a disappointing 7-4 defeat at Murrayfield.
Solway Sharks retained their unbeaten record in the competition with two comfortable victories over Dundee Comets.
The Dumfries outfit will now face Murrayfield in the semi-finals, while Whitley will meet Billingham.
Adam Brittle weighed in with four goals as Solihull Barons recorded an emphatic 13-1 home victory over Nottingham Lions in Moralee D1.
The Barons also hit double figures in the NIHL Midlands Cup, securing an 11-2 win at Sutton Sting – Tom Soar (4) was amongst the scorers.
Petr Valusiak bagged the deciding goal as Blackburn Hawks triumphed 6-5 in overtime at Widnes Wild in the same competition.
In Laidler D2, Ethan Mayoh (3) topped the scoring for Altrincham Aces as they eased to a 10-6 victory at Telford Tigers 2.
Sheffield Senators had a mixed weekend, winning 12-0 at Blackburn Hawks 2 before slipping to a 2-1 home defeat against Deeside Dragons.
