NIHL North round-up: Lascek fires Sting up to fourth place, Sharks bounce back from first defeat

ENGLAND, UK – Sutton Sting moved up to fourth place in Moralee D1 after recording a 6-5 home victory over Blackburn Hawks – Stanislav Lascek bagged the winner six minutes from time.

The Hawks enjoyed better fortunes on home ice the following day with a 6-2 win against Billingham Stars – Aaron Davies (2) and James Royds (2) led their scoring.

League leaders Solway Sharks lost for the first time this season as they fell 4-1 at Solihull Barons.

However, they bounced back to secure an 11-2 victory at Nottingham Lions – Ewan Anderson weighed in with a hat-trick for the Dumfries-based outfit.

Phil Edgar bagged a treble as Whitley Warriors ran out 7-0 winners at home to Solihull. The North East side also triumphed 7-3 at Dundee Comets in the NIHL North Cup.

James Shaw grabbed a hat-trick for Deeside Dragons in their 7-5 road win over Altrincham Aces in Laidler D2.

Jakub Hajek (2) and Daniel Bullock (2) were amongst the scorers as Widnes Wild secured a 9-1 home victory over Telford Tigers 2.
