NIHL North round-up: Boyd breaks Sharks’ hearts, Supa stars as Tigers beat Bulldogs

ENGLAND, UK – Solway Sharks’ hopes of reaching the final of the NIHL North Cup were shattered as they fell to a 10-9 aggregate defeat against Murrayfield Racers over the weekend.

The Sharks triumphed 5-4 in the first leg, but Callum Boyd’s late goal sealed a 6-4 victory for the Racers to send them through.

Whitley Warriors booked their place in the final after securing a comfortable 13-5 overall win against Billingham Stars.

Solihull Barons progressed to the final of the NIHL Midlands Cup with a 5-1 home victory over Nottingham Lions.

The Barons will now face Blackburn Hawks after the Lancashire outfit bagged a 10-6 aggregate success against Sutton Sting.

Filip Supa grabbed a hat-trick for Telford Tigers 2 in their narrow 5-4 home victory over Bradford Bulldogs in Laidler D2.

Chris Gee (5) and Shaun Dippnall (4) led the scoring as Widnes Wild ran out 23-0 winners at Blackburn Hawks 2.
