ENGLAND, UK – Solihull Barons overcame Blackburn Hawks 18-7 on aggregate to clinch the NIHL Midlands Cup over the weekend.
The Barons secured a 7-7 draw in the first leg at Blackburn and followed up with an emphatic 11-0 victory back on home ice.
Whitley Warriors moved a step closer to the Moralee D1 title with a 6-3 home victory over Billingham Stars – Ben Campbell (3) topped their scoring.
Hull Jets look well placed to claim the Laidler D2 title after picking up four points from their two weekend fixtures.
Mark Florence scored both goals as the Jets recovered from a goal down to record a 2-1 home victory over Sheffield Senators.
The Jets followed up with an impressive 6-3 win at Altrincham Aces – Kieran Beach (2) and Richard Haggar (2) were amongst the scorers.
James Parsons and Chris Keating both weighed in with hat-tricks as Deeside Dragons triumphed 8-4 at Telford Tigers 2.
