Multiple sources have reported today, through anonymous sources, that the National Hockey League has made a decision on expansion.
Those anonymous, unsubstantiated sources have suggested that the NHL will expand to Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Associated Press sourced two individuals.
The expansion fee is a reported US$500 million for a team to enter the NHL schedule.
Businessman Bill Foley is the proposed head of the owner ship group that is looking to secure an NHL franchise for the new arena on the Vegas Strip.
The Reuters news agency reached out to NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daley for comment who said the league would not comment nor would it confirm any rumors.
The cellular phone carrier, T-Mobile, reportedly paid just under US$6 million for a 15-year naming right deal for the Vegas arena.
