DENVER – Don’t have tickets to the Coors Light Stadium Series game between the Colorado Avalanche and Detroit Red Wings? Don’t worry, you can still get in on the excitement inside the Spectator Plaza.
Friday, February 26th, from 1 PM to 5 PM, and Saturday, February 27th, from 2 PM to 6 PM, the Spectator Plaza will be set up along Blake Street just outside of Coors Field. Fans can go in for free and check out the many attractions, including interactive exhibits that will not only entertain, but could challenge fans, both mentally and physically.
Coors Light, the headline sponsor of the Stadium Series, will have the new Coors Light interactive activation space. This space is for fans 21 years of age and over and will include a large bar, a live DJ and gaming areas with video games and bubble hockey.
Here’s a fun event for both the young and old. Reebok will be offering up fans a chance to dress up as an Avalanche or Red Wings player, using gear provided by Reebok-CCM. Who can resist taking a picture of their kid in oversized hockey gear?
Feel like testing your “fanhood”? GEICO will be challenging fans’ hockey knowledge with a trivia contest, or you can channel your inner Raymond Bourque with the shooting accuracy challenge. MetLife will also be offering a sharp shooter showcase, complete with regulation net and goalie cutout.
Have you ever wanted your own trading card? Upper Deck can make that happen. They will give fans a chance to get their own trading card as well as check out their latest in NHL trading cards.
Honda will be giving away signed autographs, while supplies last, and parading out their new 2016 Honda Pilot. They will also be offering up a trip the the NHL Awards show in Las Vegas, for fans who enter their contest.
An American icon will also be present in the Spectator Plaza. The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will be outside the stadium. Swing on by and visit this legendary hotdog on wheels. Go ahead, take a selfie. Nobody will judge you.
Speaking of taking pictures. NHL Network and XFINITY will be taking pictures of fans on the NHL Network set. You too can pretend to be Kevin Weekes, Jamie Hersch, or Tony Luftman.
McDonald’s will have a food truck on site, giving away samples of their french fries and hashbrowns to fans who come on by.
Live music will be provided by DJ RIPM on Friday and The Martini Shot on Saturday.
This is all part of the excitement leading up to the Alumni game on Friday, February 26th at 5 PM and ultimately the Stadium Series game on Saturday, February 27th at 6 PM.
