NHL salary arbitration hearings are scheduled to begin Thursday.
Among the 22 restricted free agents who filed for salary arbitration by the July 5 deadline, according to the NHL Players’ Association, was Vince Dunn of the Seattle Kraken.
The 26-year-old defenseman is scheduled for a hearing July 24. He set NHL career highs in points (64), goals (14), assists (50) and games played (81) last season, his sixth in the League. He had seven points (one goal, six assists) in 14 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Notable players with a hearing scheduled include forward Troy Terry (Anaheim Ducks), and goalies Filip Gustavsson (Minnesota Wild), Ilya Samsonov (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Jeremy Swayman (Boston Bruins).
Forward Brett Howden signed a two-year, $3.8 million contract with the Vegas Golden Knights on July 19 to avoid a hearing scheduled for July 24; the same day, forward Gabriel Vilardi signed a two-year, $6.875 million contract to avoid a hearing scheduled for July 28. Forward Ross Colton signed a four-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche on July 17 to avoid an arbitration hearing that had been scheduled for July 27. Financial terms were not disclosed. Forward Morgan Barron signed a two-year, $2.7 million contract with the Winnipeg Jets the same day, avoiding a hearing that had been scheduled for Aug. 2.
Forward Alexey Toropchenko signed a two-year, $2.5 million contract with the St. Louis Blues on July 16 to avoid a hearing that was scheduled for July 20; forward Brandon Duhaime signed a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the Minnesota Wild on July 16 to avoid a hearing that had been set for July 20. Forward Tanner Jeannot signed a two-year, $5.33 million contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning on July 15 to avoid a hearing scheduled for July 24.
Forward Noah Cates signed a two-year, $5.25 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers on July 10 to avoid a hearing that had been scheduled for July 20. DefensemanIan Mitchell signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Boston Bruins on July 10; he had a hearing scheduled for July 26.
Will Borgen (two years, $5.4 million) and Cale Fleury (two years, $1.6 million) signed with the Seattle Kraken on July 7 and 9, respectively, to each avoid a hearing.

Salary arbitration hearings will be held from July 20-Aug. 4. A player can sign a contract with his current team any time before his hearing.
Last offseason, 24 restricted free agents filed for salary arbitration and two had a team-elected hearing scheduled. Forward Yakov Trenin of the Nashville Predators was the only player awarded a contract by an independent arbitrator following his hearing; he received a two-year, $3.4 million contract ($1.7 million AAV) on Aug. 5, three days after his hearing.
