Newcastle double-up Ice, 4-2 Moffatt continues hot start, scores twice

MELBOURNE, Australia – A three-goal second period propelled the Newcastle North Stars to a 4-2 win over their hosts, the Melbourne Ice this past weekend.

Geordie Wudrick added two goals of his own in the victory.

Dayne Davis picked up the win for Newcastle with 30 saves.

Jason Baclig staked the Ice to an early 1-0 lead in the first period but Melbourne was unable to lock down the Stars’ offense in the second.

Matt Armstrong closed out the scoring in the game midway through the third period.

Jaden Pine-Murphy took the loss for the Ice on 35 saves.
