Corey Neilson begins his second season as Head Coach of the Glasgow Clan this week, with his Purple Army hitting the ice ahead of their first pre-season action on Friday.

Clan will face Denmark’s Herlev Eagles in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday, as the team begins its warm-up schedule for the 2025/26 season. The roster is now in Glasgow, with players taking to the ice in Braehead for their first training sessions of the year.
Said Head Coach Neilson:
“We’re looking forward to getting going for sure. There have been a lot of highs and some lows this summer, but we’re optimistic that the guys we have here will do a great job. The first week will be about physical evaluations, concussion testing, strength testing, and getting as much hockey knowledge into their brains as possible.”
It’s a welcome change for Neilson, who last year had no home pre-season fixtures while the Braehead Arena underwent refurbishment. This time around, Clan will host Marseille next week before travelling to Germany for the Warrior Invitational Tournament in the final week before the season begins.
“We’re very excited to be starting on home ice and not travelling all over for training and exhibition games,” Neilson continued. “We have some competitive fixtures lined up, and it will be great to see the guys get back to business. The trip to Germany should finish off pre-season nicely and give us some valuable team-building time as well.”
