Navy Goaltender Takes Post Season Award

Annapolis, MD: Mitch Stangel, goaltender for the Naval Academy Midshipmen received the Goaltender of the Year award from the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League.  The ACCHL is a 16-team D2 league in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

Stangel played in 21 of Navy’s 23 games, as well as helping to backstop the U S Military All Stars during their United Kingdom tour over winter break.

Over those 21 games, Stangel has posted a 6-14-0 record with a 3.90 GAA.

He has surrendered 82 goals with a .885 save  percentage.

In addition, he’s been credited with two assists on the season.
