In Nashville, the Predators took their fifth straight win on Wednesday night off a 4+2 decision over the visiting Calgary Flames.
The Preds scored twice in the first stanza, and twice again in third to get the win.
Colton Sissons and Ryan O’Reilly were the first period strikers for Nashville.
Sissons scored shorthanded at 2:33 for a 1-0 lead to Nashville.
Calgary replied at 4:46 off a marker from Noah Hanifin for a 1-1 tie.
O’Reilly reclaimed the lead for Nashville at 11:23 of the first.
Juuse Saros made 24 saves in the win.
Nashville moved to 8-10-0.
After a scoreless middle frame, the Predators hit for a 3-1 lead off a strike by Alexandre Carrier with 12 minutes gone in the third.
The Flames dropped to 7-9-3.
Juuso Parssinen scored off the power play at 17:22 for a little breathing room for the Predators and a 4-1 advance.
Calgary’s Yegor Sharangovich hit for a shorthanded marker with 45 seconds left on the game clock for the 4-2 final.
Jacob Markstrom made 41 saves in the loss.
