In Columbus Sunday, Juuse Saros made 35 saves for the Nashville Predators in a 4-3 win over the Blue Jackets.
The win erased a poor effort by the Preds coming out of their five0day break.
“I liked the way we stayed with it and got better as the game went on, after the break and a difficult night with the travel and getting in when we did with the early start today,” Predators head coach Peter Laviolette said.
Mattias Ekholm scored the eventual game-winner midway through the final frame.
Ryan Ellis, Kevin Fiala and Calle Jarnkrok also scored for the Predators.
Columbus got goals from Zach Werenski scored a goal and had two assists, Brandon Saad and Oliver Bjorkstrand.
“We had some good minutes. We had some fair minutes. We crawled back into it. We beat ourselves in a couple of plays,” Columbus head coach John Tortorella said of his club’s play in the loss.
The Jackets rallied with a goal early in the third period from Werenski to tie the game 3-3.
“[Wennberg] put it right on my tape,” Werenski said. “I had a lot of time. When you have that much time, you want to find a spot you want to hit, and that’s what I did.”

Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves in taking the loss.
Ryan Johansen was lustily booed in his first visit to Columbus since being traded away.
“They’re Blue Jackets fans. They’re not Predators fans. They’re not fans of mine anymore. We won in their building, and we’re going home,” Johansen said.
