RAPID CITY, S.D. – Eagles forward Jesse Mychan scored two goals, including the game-winner, while goaltender Eric Levine stopped all 26 shots he faced in a 3-0 Eagles win over Rapid City on Sunday.
After a scoreless first period, Mychan put the Eagles on the board at the 10:26 mark of the second period with a shot from behind the Rush net that ricocheted off the back of goaltender Danny Battochio and into the back of the net, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead.
Heading into the third period, Colorado would waste little time adding to their lead, as defenseman Collin Bowman would jam home a puck from the low-slot to make it 2-0 Eagles just 3:52 into the final frame.
Mychan would find the back of the net for the second time in the contest with just five minutes remaining in regulation when he deflected a shot from fellow forward Joe Zarbo past Battochio and giving the Eagles a 3-0 advantage.
Levine would stand tall in net, making 26 saves to give him his second shutout since joining the Eagles earlier this month.
