WINNIPEG – The Manitoba Moose (12-5-1-1) and Laval Rocket (9-7-2-1) went head-to-head on Tuesday night at Bell MTS Place. Manitoba went on the attack early, building up an 8-3 lead in shots at the midway point of the period. The visitors pushed back in 
the second half of the frame and would open the scoring courtesy of Antoine Waked at 13:11. That marker would be the only tally of the period, sending Laval to the break leading the Moose 1-0.
Manitoba pulled even 10:31 into the second period. Working on the power play, Michael Spacek passed into the slot for Mike Sgarbossa who redirected the puck past Michael McNiven. Sgarbossa struck again just 40 seconds later, tipping a Peter Stoykewych point shot to the back of the net to put the Moose out front 2-1. The Rocket tallied with 1:01 left in the period with a power play goal of their own on a one-timer from Chris Terry to send the teams to the third tied 2-2.
Despite some good looks for both sides, the third period didn’t yield a winner. Manitoba pushed the pace, outshooting Laval 11-5, but McNiven was able to keep the Rocket in the contest. The game rolled into overtime where Eric Comrie put on a show, shutting down three Laval odd-man rushes to send the contest to a shootout. After the first round of shooters was held off the sheet, Nic Petan and Chris Terry both scored. The goalies took care of the next round, moving the contest to extra shooters. Brendan Lemieux scored for Manitoba and Daniel Carr was stopped by Comrie to lift the Moose to a 3-2 win.
