Montreal rout Panthers, 10-2 Update to follow

In Montreal, a game that meant very little to either the Canadiens or the visiting Florida Panthers ended in a 10-8 blow out. And not in the direction you might have guessed.

 Carey Price  made 37 saves to get this first win since last season’s Stanely Cup Final.

The Panthers dropped to 58-18-6.

Jordan Harris, Mike Hoffman, Caulfield, and Brendan Gallagher‘ scored in the first period to give the Habs a 4-0 lead.

Montreal moved to 22-49-11.

They tacked on four more in the middle frame for a 8-1 lead after two periods.

Caulfield pushed the lead to 5-0 in the second, and Mathieu Perreault, Jake Evans, and Christian Dvorak  extended the rout to 8-1.

Caulfield finished his hat trick in the third, and Tyler Pitlick scored for a 10-1 score.

Jonas Johansson made 27 saves was the sacrificial lamb for the Panthers, it was his second start with a tram of under-studies.
