Cincinnati, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones announced that the team has re-signed forward Matt McLeod for the 2022-23 season.
McLeod, 25, joined the Cyclones ahead of last season following a year away from hockey due to the pandemic. After recording eight points (4g-4a) in 39 games with Brampton as a rookie in 2019-20, McLeod broke out in Cincinnati, tallying 40 points (19g-21a) in 59 games. He also skated in three American Hockey League games with Bakersfield.
Prior to turning pro, McLeod played four years at Canisius College from 2015-19. where he totaled 25 points (8g-17a) and won the AHA regular-season title in the 2016-17 season.
McLeod is the older brother to both Ryan and Michael McLeod, who are in the National Hockey League with Edmonton and New Jersey respectively.
