Marlies Top Syracuse In 2nd Half Of Back To Back

The Toronto Marlies topped the Syracuse Crunch 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday night.

In the first period, both teams had plenty of chances, but neither team could break through. In the second, Joey Anderson tallied his fifth shorthanded goal of the season, and 20th overall.

In the third, Daniel Walcott scored just over five minutes in to give the home side the lead. But, just over halfway through the frame, Joseph Duszak scored to tie the game at two. 60 minutes wasn’t enough, and overtime was needed. There was no scoring in the extra frame, but in the shootout it was Joey Anderson who secured the win for the visitors.
