Marlies Top Rochester, Win Fourth Straight Game

The Toronto Marlies topped the Rochester Americans 5-2 on Saturday evening to earn their fourth straight win. They are now 11-7-1-1 against North Division opponents and 2-1-0-0 against the Americans

In the first period, Alex Biega opened the scoring with his first of the season just over six minutes in. Rochester responded with one of their own a few minutes to tie the game at one through 20.

Rochester took the lead in the second period, but the Marlies never gave up. Just under a minute later Mac Hollowell tied the game at two with a blast from the point. Shortly after that, Nick Robertson scored his first of the season to give the Marlies the lead.

In the third, Joey Anderson tallied another for the Marlies on the power-play, and Robertson found the back of an empty net for his second of the game, securing the victory for the home side. Michael Hutchinson stood tall in the Marlies net, stopping 30 of the 32 shots he faced.
