The Toronto Marlies defeated the Abbotsford Canucks 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday night. The two teams split the season series, winning two games each.

In the first period, it was Marlies captain Rich Clune who opened the scoring with his third of the season. Sheldon Dries and John Stevens both added goals for the home side, giving them a 2-1 advantage after 20.
In the second, Dmitry Ovchinnikov potted his first career AHL goal just over 10 minutes in to tie the game at two. But, before the frame was over, Sheldon Rempal scored for the home side, once again giving them a one-goal advantage at the intermission.
In the third, Curtis Douglas scored for the second time in as many games, tying the game at three. That would be all in regulation, as overtime was needed to determine a winner in this game.
In the extra frame, it was Josh Ho-Sang who sent the visitors home with a big two points, netting his 15th of the season. Marlies goaltenders Talor Joseph and Billy Christopoulos combined to stop 28 of the 31 shots they faced in the victory.
