The Toronto Marlies lost their second straight to the Senators on Saturday evening, 4-3 in overtime. The Marlies are now 6-2-1 against the Sens this season.
The first period, much like Friday’s game, ended with a 2-0 Senators lead. Mark Kastelic and Logan Shaw both scored for the visitors. In the second, the Marlies responded as Nick Robertson scored his third of the season to cut the Sens lead in half. But, a few moments later the Senators got one back thanks to Andrew Agozzino. Antti Suomela and Michael Del Zotto both added one more for their respective teams before the period was over. The Senators held their two goal lead through two.
In the third, Semyon Der-Arguchintsev scored his second in as many games to bring the Marlies within one. Later, Alex Steeves scored his 14th goal of the season to tie the game at four mid-way through the third. There were plenty of chances at both ends, but overtime was needed to determine a winner.
In the extra frame, it was Egor Sokolov who tallied the winner for the visitors.
