Marlies Fall To Wolves In First Half Of Back-To-Back

The Toronto Marlies fell 4-2 to the Chicago Wolves on Saturday. The Marlies are 2-1-0-0 against the Wolves this season.

In the first period, the Marlies came out firing. Semyon Der-Arguchintsev scored just 32 seconds into the opening frame to give Toronto an early 1-0 lead. Just over seven and a half minutes in, Brett Seney scored his 16th of the season on the power-play to give the home side a 2-0 advantage. But, Chicago kept pressing. CJ Smith and Ryan Suzuki both scored before the period was over, leading to a 2-2 tie after the first.

Both teams exchanged chances in the second, but the score remained through 40. In the third, both goalies stood tall, but former Marlie Josh Leivo managed to find the back of the net, making it 3-2 for the visitors. Stefan Noesen put one in the back of an empty Marlies net in the final minute, sending the visitors home with a 4-2 victory.

The two teams meet again on Sunday in the second half of the weekend series at Coca-Cola Coliseum. Puck drop is at 4:00pm EST.
