The Toronto Marlies winning streak came to an end on Friday night after they fell to the Senators 4-3. The Marlies are now 6-2-0-0 against the Senators this season.
In the first period, the Senators got off to a fast start, as Matthew Wedman scored just over two minutes in. Mark Kastelic added another for the home side before the period was over, giving them a 2-0 lead.
The Marlies came out hungry in the second, and Semyon Der-Arguchintsev scored on the power-play to cut the Sens lead in half. But, Egor Sokolov restored the Senators two goal lead later in the second period with his 12th of the season.
In the third, the Marlies came out flying. Joseph Duszak scored a short-handed goal just over a minute in. Then, a minute later, Joey Anderson scored a quick one off the draw to tie the game at three. Later in the frame, Sokolov gave the Senators the lead on the power-play. With under five minutes remaining in the game, Duszak appeared to tie the game again, but the goal was waived off for a high stick.
