Marlies Fall To Penguins In First Half Of Back-To-Back

The Toronto Marlies fell 5-1 to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins on Friday night. Toronto is now 5-4-0-0 against Atlantic Division opponents so far this season.

In the first period, the Penguins got off to a quick start, as Alex Nylander scored just 30 seconds into the game to make it 1-0. The score remained the same throughout the entire first period.

In the second, the Penguins continued to find some offence, as Valtteri Puustinen and Filip Hallander both added goals for the home side in the middle frame. The Marlies managed to break through, as Antti Suomela found the back of the net with just nine seconds left in the period. In the third, Kasper Bjorkqvist and Nylander added two more goals for the home side, leading them to a 5-1 victory. The two teams will meet again on Saturday evening. Puck drop is at 6:05pm ET.
