The Marlies saw their three-game win streak snapped Sunday, dropping a close 3-2 shootout decision to the visiting Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

It was back and forth for the majority of the game, with all regulation goals coming in the second period. Michael Carcone got things going midway through the game, firing a shot five-hole on Jeremy Smith to open the scoring. Josh Jooris and Vincent LoVerde assisted on Carcone’s 16th of the season. The Sound Tigers were quick to respond, evening things up just over a minute later with a goal from Jeff Kubiak. Bridgeport then took the lead as Josh H0-Sang beat Kasimir Kaskisuo on a breakaway to put the visitors up 2-1. The Marlies evened things back up late in the frame, capitalizing on a power play as Dmytro Timashov picked the top corner to finish off a sweet passing play from Rasmus Sandin and Jeremy Bracco.
Neither team could break the deadlock through regulation or extra-time so the game turned to a shootout to decide a winner. Timashov scored the lone goal for the Marlies in the shootout while Chris Bourque and Otto Koivula both scored for Bridgeport to seal a 3-2 victory.
