MONTREAL, QUE. – Toronto Marlies goaltender Christopher Gibson stopped all 29 Hamilton Bulldogs shots he faced to lead Toronto (28-24-9-0) to a 2-0 shutout win over Hamilton (30-24-9-0) on Sunday afternoon at Bell Centre in Montreal, Que.

The only shot that beat Hamilton goaltender Mike Condon on Sunday came at 17:21 of the first period when Toronto forward Ryan Rupert redirected a cross-crease pass from forward Connor Brown past the ‘Dogs netminder. Toronto_Marlies_svg

After a scoreless second period, the Bulldogs carried the play in the third period, outshooting the Marlies 7-2 in an effort to even the score, but Toronto forward Sam Carrick potted an empty-net goal with 46 seconds left to finish off the ‘Dogs, 2-0.

Condon made 16 stops on the night to counter Gibson’s 29.

Both teams went 0-for-3 on the power play.
