In Tampa, John Tavares scored 55 seconds into extra time on Saturday for a 4-3 win for the Toronto Maple Leafs over the Lightning.
Ilya Samsonov got the start for the Maple Leafs, but left the game at 13:29 of the opening period. He made one save, surrendering three goals to the Lightning.
Joseph Woll saved all 29 shots in relief.
William Nylander, who set up the game winner, scored in the first period to give the Maple Leafs a 1-0 lead.
Nikita Kucherov hit the first of his two on the night at 6:26 of the first to tie it, 1-1.
Alex Barre-Boulet scored midway through the first for a 2-1 lead, before Kucherov hit for his second and a 3-1 advantage.
Toronto forced the extra session when Matthew Knies hot for a double in the third period to even the game at 3-3.
He scored once at 12:11 and 14;33.
Jonas Johansson made 48 saves in the Tampa loss.
