In Dallas, the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs kept right on rolling Wednesday night with a 5-3 win over the Stars.
Auston Matthews collected his 36th of the year in the win.
William Nylander scored in his fifth straight game.
“Maybe I’ve just been having the mentality to shoot a little more, I think,” Nylander said.. “Once you’re scoring, you feel confident in your shot, so I think that’s when I keep shooting the puck.”
Frederik Andersen made 31 saves to get the win.
“It was good,” Maple Leafs forward Zach Hyman said. “We knew that we needed to start getting on the right side of games, especially coming off the break.”
Denis Gurianov scored and Alexander Radulov struck twice for the Stars; Dallas was scoreless in three power play chances.
“The power play needs to be a lot better,” Stars coach Rick Bowness said. “It’s as simple as that. They’re not creating anything and not giving us any momentum. It’s not more complicated than that.”
Auston Matthews and Tyson Barrie also scored for the Leafs.
Andreas Johnsson added the an empty net goal as the sealer.

Ben Bishop made 29 saves in the loss.
“We just didn’t play detailed enough,” Dallas forward Andrew Cogliano said. “We knew what type of team they were. They play a puck-possession game and want to play offense.
“We’ve been in harder games in terms of physicality, but with teams like that, when you cheat a little bit and get into their style of game, that’s when you lose.”
