Maillet Nets First Pro Goal in Debut, Reign Roll Past Condors 3-1

Bakersfield, CA – Forward Brett Sutter buried the game-winning goal and rookie Philippe Maillet registered his first professional goal to propel the Ontario Reign (33-18-10-0) over the Bakersfield Condors (30-25-5-1), 3-1, at Rabobank Arena Friday night.

The Condors challenged the Reign defense early in the opening period, peppering goalie Jack Campbell (W, 24 saves on 25 shots) with multiple shots in the first minutes of the contest. Campbell kept the contest scoreless through the first 20 minutes of action.

Reign defenseman Alex Lintuniemi broke the scoreless tie midway through the second period, catching a pass from forward T.J. Forward Brett Sutter reclaimed the lead for the Reign 54 seconds into the third period with his 16 goal of the season and rookie forward Philippe Maillet add an insurance marker and his first professional goal at 16:54.
