CARDIFF, UK – Cardiff Devils Head Coach Gerard Adams continues to build for the coming season, acquiring Stuart MacRae from the CHL Amarillo Gorillas to bolster his forward lines.
MacRae joins following a 59 point season off 61 games for the Gorillas, good enough to top his team in scoring and assists for the season whilst he placed 4th on the team in goals behind former Edinburgh Capitals forward David Nimmo.
MacRae, who will attend Cardiff Business School as part of the team’s link up with the University, has been signed with Cardiff for a few weeks but the Devils have waited until the end of the CHL season to announce his arrival with the team.
MacRae will be no stranger to Elite League hockey, having shared the ice with current Devil Wes Jarvis as part of the CIS winning St. Francis Xavier X-Men, a team he also shared with former Basingstoke Bison iron man defenceman Eric Braff and former Manchester Phoenix blueliner Omar Enafetti.
The 27 year old is likely to line up to feed goalscoring wing Jon Pelle on the second line who signed from CHL Presidents Cup winners Rapid City Rush earlier this week, Pelle and MacRae may have experienced Elite League agitator Ryan Finnerty at their centre.
