CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders knocked off the Muskegon Lumberjacks 8-0 in the final match up of the season between the two teams. Muskegon falls to (20-21-5), and sit in 7th place in the Eastern Conference with 45 points.
The RoughRiders jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one period of play. Matt Felipe, Justin Cole, Callahan Burke, and Hugh McGing all scored to give Cedar Rapids a four-goal
lead. The Lumberjacks were awarded a power play late in the first period, but could not capitalize and went into the first intermission trailing the Cedar Rapids by four goals.
The Lumberjacks added offensive pressure in the second period, outshooting the RoughRiders 10-7, however were unable to breakthrough, and went into the second intermission trailing 4-0.
Cedar Rapids added four more goals in the third period to knock off the Lumberjacks 8-0. The loss ends the Lumberjacks second longest win streak of the season at three games.
