PHILADELPHIA – Andrei Vasilevskiy made 32 saves as he picked up his second straight shutout with a 3-0 Tampa Bay Lightning win over the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday.
“I’m playing more games and I am feeling more confident, plus our guys have played so well the last couple of games,” Vasilevskiy said.
The Bolts improved to 12-6-1 on the season and Ondrej Palat, Tyler Johnson and Jonathan Drouin scored in the win.
“In today’s day and age it’s tough to play somebody 70-plus games. You need two [goaltenders] to give yourself a chance,” Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said after the win. “We’re in an extremely fortunate situation to have two guys the caliber of [Andrei Vasilevskiy and Ben Bishop]
The shutout loss was the first for the Flyers this season.

Steve Mason was not tested much and made only 15 saves on the afternoon.
“A few times we had good looks but we missed the net or it got blocked or he made a good save,” the Flyers’ Mark Streit said. “They played a smart road game and we just didn’t push enough. We didn’t push enough on the gas and didn’t generate enough offensively.”
