PHILADELPHIA – The Flyers rallied from a 5-1 deficit in the third period to force extra time Saturday afternoon against the Tampa Bay Lighting.
But the Bolts’ Anthony Cirelli struck with 1:47 gone in the extra frame to give the Lighting a 6-5 win.
“We probably didn’t deserve this two points, but at the end of the day we found a way,” Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh said.

Wayne Simmondstied the game for the Flyers with just under four minutes left in regulation.
Brayden Point and James van Riemsdyk had goals for the Flyers.
“[Stinks] it has to come down to 10 minutes left in the game and you’re down a couple goals,” Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere said. “It’s a positive you take away from the game. Never give up. We got a point out of it. Not sure we had any business getting a point, but it shows the true grit of our team.”
Travis Konecny scored twice for the Flyers.
“It definitely was fun to be able to come back from 5-1 with 10 minutes left,” Claude Giroux said.
Louis Domingue made 40 saves to get the win.
“You’re going to look at the box score and it’s going to say Louis gave up five, but he made some big saves for us,” Lightning coach Jon Cooper said.
Brayden Point had two goals for the Lightning.
Adam Erne, Cedric Paquette and Tyler Johnson also scored for Tampa Bay.

Calvin Pickard made 20 savesin the loss.
The Flyers did finally score on the power play.
“It doesn’t feel very good when you’re not putting the puck to the net on the power play. It doesn’t matter how many opportunities you’re getting, it’s about finishing. So we finally got one there and that lifted a pretty big weight,” Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol said.
