In Tampa, Andrei Vasilevskiy made 29 saves and is now 15-0-2 in his last 17 starts as the Lightning doubled up the Pittsburgh Penguins, 4-2, on Thursday night.
“Obviously he’s the best goalie in the world, in my opinion,” the Lightning’s Mikhail Sergachev said. “He works so hard on [his game] in every practice. He’s great for us.”
Evgeni Malkin and John Marino scored for the Penguins.
“I think when we get an opportunity like that and time like that we need to settle down and make some plays,” the Penguins’ Sidney Crosby said. “Like I said, those are key points in the game.”
Nikita Kucherov, Steve Stamkos, Sergachev, Anthony Cirelli were the Lightning strikers.
“They got off to a good start so we had to match their work ethic,” Sergachev said. “Our skating took over and we were able to score a couple of goals.”

Matt Murray made 25 saves in the loss.
“We’ve got to do a better job,” Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan said. “There’s a framework and I think we get a little bit stagnant. If you ask me one thing that I think we could get better at, I think we create a little more movement, a little bit more deception, and I think that will help us.”
