SHEFFIELD, U.K.- The Steeldogs have re-signed British defender, Lewis Bell. The upcoming 2012/13 will be his third season with the Sheffield side.
After playing for the Sheffield Academy from U14’s through to the U18’s, Bell played for the Sheffield Scimitars at EPL level in 2009 and had two successive seasons with the Steeldogs from 2010.
Bell also represented Great Britain during the 2008/09 season in the World Junior Championships.
In his two seasons at the Steeldogs, the 20 year old defender recorded 2 goals, 5 assists and a total of 111 penalty minutes.
Steeldogs owner, Shane Smith, said, “ It is great to see Lewis back.”
“Last year he developed more as a player at the EPL level and is a player that we are looking at for the future, as Lewis is still a young player with a lot to offer”.
Andre Payette, Steeldogs Head Coach, said, “ I am really happy to have Lewis back, I think he has made a lot of progress in the year and a half with me”
“He isn’t afraid of anyone and will do anything for his team mates.”
“With a lot of hard work and continuous improvement, one day I see Belly as one of the best British defencemen in the EPL”.
