Lepine picked up 10 (3+7) points in the 58 games in which he iced last term for the Panthers which is a respectable tally given the role he was given to play by Nottingham player/coach Corey Neilson. The defenceman picked up a career high of 230 penalty minutes which demonstrates that the Canadian certainly didn’t shy away from any confrontation that came his way during the 2010/11 campaign. Guy also showed himself to be a reliable presence on the blue line as the 24 year old logged significant ice time in defence during the past season. Corey Neilson’s decision to bring the Montreal native back to the NIC for a 2nd season. Lepine could well look to establish himself as the Elite League’s number one tough guy as with Sean McMorrow out of the picture the only current stand out heavyweight in the division would be the Cardiff Devils power forward Brad Voth. No doubt many gritty competitors will come into the Elite League set up between now and the start of 2011/12 season however it looks certain that Lepine will look to take all the top enforcers in British hockey as he will be aiming to become an indispensable member of the Panthers roster.
