For Rielly, it was his first goal of the season.
“It’s nice to get that first one out of the way,” Rielly said. “I’ve really not tried to think about it at all. For me, it’s about matchups.”
A big third period cost the Flyers as the Leafs struck four times in the final frame.
“We turned a pretty good two-period effort into a poor outcome,” Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol said. “We’ve got to finish. We didn’t finish in the third period, that’s the bottom line.”
Frederik Andersen made 30 saves in the win.
Zach Hyman, Martin Marincin and Leo Komarov also scored their first goals of the season for the Leafs.
Wayne Simmonds had two goals and Travis Konecny scored for the Flyers.
Steve Mason made 17 saves on the night and was weak in net again for the Flyers. Mason is 2-5-2 on the season.
“The last one I wasn’t happy with,” Mason said. “Realistically, all of them are stoppable.”
Mitchell Marner and Nazem Kadri also scored for Toronto.
