Glasgow Clan sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West are delighted to announce the re-signing of returning forward Nolan LaPorte for the 2022-23 campaign.
The Chicago-born winger is back for a third season in Glasgow to resume his mantle as something of a fans’ favourite.
LaPorte saw no reason to go anywhere else and admits he’s excited by the look of the team in the new season.
“I think the coach has done a great job recruiting this season and when you can bring a guy like Stephen Dixon to the team, as one of the top centre men in the league, that’s good for us,” he said.
“Secondary scoring was talked about and I think the guys picked up this year will certainly help to improve that for us next season.
“This could be our best season yet and I can’t wait to come back and get back on the ice to return playing the game again.
“The fans make it for me and it’s more comfortable for me now. Everyone’s amazing there so if it isn’t broken, there’s no need to fix it.”
LaPorte first came to Glasgow in the summer of 2019, joining from ECHL side Atlanta Gladiators and has amassed 90 points (41 goals and 49 assists) in his 109 appearances so far.
He returned last year following the Covid shutdown and played a prominent role for Malcolm Cameron’s side, forming a deadly trio with Mathieu Roy and Colton Yellow Horn.
And Clan’s head coach spoke of the qualities that persuaded him to bring LaPorte back for another campaign.

“Nolan had a tremendous season for us last year, playing in all different roles and excelling in the penalty kill and the powerplay,” Cameron said.
“He scored some big goals in key games, as well as showed great leadership. His passion and intensity fuelled our hockey club and you could feel it along the bench.
“Nolan is a good skater, has a good shot and really wants to win and those are the characteristics I like, particularly in those I wanted to bring back and we’re proud to have him again.”
LaPorte completes the Clan line-up for 2022/23, where he will return to wearing the #37 jersey again.
He joins John Dunbar, Craig Peacock, Jordan Cownie, Stephen Dixon, Liam Stenton, Gergely Tóth, Zach Driscoll, Gary Haden, Colton Waltz, Steven McParland, Shawn Boutin, Mathieu Roy, Mitch Jones, Jordan Buesa, Harry Ferguson, Kevin Massy, Brad Kennedy, Euan Simpson, Gabriel Chabot and Ty Taylor on the roster.
