Laine leads Blue Jackets over Jets, 4-1

In Winnipeg, the Columbus Blue Jackets’ Patrik Laine returned the lineup on Friday night, and scored twice in a 4-1 win over the Jets.

Laine scored in the first period to give the Blue Jackets a 1-0 lead.

Joonas Korpisalo made 37 saves for the Columbus win.

The Blue Jackets improved to 8-12-2.

Pierre-Luc Dubois was the lone striker for Winnipeg, his power play goal came in the third period to break up the 4-0 shutout bid.

Erik Gudbranson pushed the lead to 2-0 midway through the opening period, a lead the Jackets would protect for a change in the NHL.

Laine’s second marker came in the middle frame to extend the Columbus advantage to 3-0.

The Jets dropped to 14-7-1.

Gustav Nyquist extended the lead to 4-0 at 12:21 of the second period.

David Rittich made 22 saves in the Jets loss.
