In Dallas, Darcy Kuemper made 23 saves, and the Colorado Avalanche shut out the Stars, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon.
Gabriel Landeskog hit for the first and last goals in the game.
The Avalanche improved to 34-8-4.
Nazem Kadri scored for the Avs, his goal made it 2-0.
“It’s in the back of your mind,” Kadri said. “You’re mindful to it, but it’s not something I focus on too much. I just feel like I’m in a zone right now, and the best way to continue that is to just to stay focused and not get too far ahead of yourself.”
The Stars dropped to 25-19-2.
“Where’s our swagger? It wasn’t there,” Dallas head coach Rick Bowness said. “It was there sporadically in the second, but it certainly wasn’t there in the third. That has to come from within. When you get 20 guys playing with an aggressive mindset, we’re a good hockey club. When we have 20 guys who aren’t aggressive and on the same wavelength, we’re not.”
Colo9rado’s Nicolas Aube-Kubel scored in the final frame to make the score3-0.
Braden Holtby made 26 saves in the Stars loss.
“Play with a chip on your shoulder and take it to them,” Dallas’ Michael Raffl said when asked about the team’s approach. “They took two points out of our building. We’re going to try to do the same.”
