In Seattle, the Kraken scored three times in the first period to take a 3-0 lead over the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets into the third period on Sunday night.
The Kraken then had to hold off a rally in the third period to take a 4-2 win.
Jordan Eberle potted a pair of power play goals in the first period to help build the early lead.
Joey Daccord made 30 saves in the win.
Seattle improved to 21-18-10.
“We were disappointed to lose the point the other night, but we came back and got the two points tonight that were critical,” Seattle coach Dave Hakstol said. “Anything less, we’d be walking out of this building tonight not feeling very good about ourselves.”
Eberle opened the scoring with a power play goal at 12:40 of the opening stanza. Eberle tipped the pick in after it hit off a Blue Jackets’ Â defenseman.
“We broke in well. We had a couple good looks,” Eberle said. “And then, I mean, we’ll call it a good bounce, went off I think their guy and then off my stick.”
Seattle’s Jared McCann hit at 16:04 of the first to push the lead to 2-0 on an odd man rush with Eberle.
“[Goals] come and they go, right?” McCann said. “You’re going to be hot one minute, and the next, you’re not. I’m just trying to be as consistent as possible. … It’s not always about scoring goals.”
Eberle hit for his double at 17:58, off the power play, to stretch the advantage to 3-0.
“The second one, once again, we found a way to get it back and created some movement,” Eberle said. “We’ve had a lot of shots from the sides and then burying it that way, so it’s nice to find different ways to put them in.”
Columbus dropped to 15-24-10.
“This guy can shoot the puck. He can skate, he’s a strong young man,” Columbus coach Pascal Vincent said. “We saw a glimpse of what he can do, and his growth has been consistent.”
The Blue Jackets rallied with a double by Yegor Chinakhov in the third period to close the gap to 3-2.
His first came at at 7:12 of the third following a turnover in the neutral zone, to make it 3-1 to Seattle.
Seattle sealed the 4-2 win with an empty-net marker from Brandon Tanev with 13 seconds left on the game clock.
“We kind of let the game slip away a bit,” McCann said. “We got on our heels and kind of let them take control of the game, and we can’t do that.”
Daniil Tarasov made 22 saves in the loss.
“We didn’t have much to start the game but found a way to push ourselves,” Vincent said. “We established a no-quit attitude and just kept going. We got better as the game went on.”
