Kraken down Ducks, 4-3

In Anaheim, Jordan Eberle’s third period strike gave the Seattle Kraken a 4-3 lead they held on to for a win over the Ducks on Friday night.

“It’s a big road win,” Eberle said. “I think we can get back to the way we were playing before the break [5-4-0 prior to All-Star Game].”

Chris Driedger made 24 saves in the Kraken win.

The Kraken moved to 16-28-4.

“There were parts of the game that we didn’t handle their pressure and speed as well as we needed to,” Kraken head coach Dave Hakstol said. “But in saying that, we were able to grind through it and push back at the right times, make plays at the right times and come up with big plays.”

The Ducks’ Isac Lundestrom hit for a double.

“As much as you’re crossing your fingers and you practiced hard, that’s a long time to be off,” Ducks head coach Dallas Eakins said. “[The Kraken] had the luxury of a game underneath their belt [Wednesday]. I liked our effort, but we don’t like the result.”

Ryan Donato struck for a pair of goals for Seattle.

“I always pray that they come, but they come in bunches,” Donato said. “Some guys are streaky and they go a couple games without a goal, but then they put two or three in and they’re right back in it.”

Vince Dunn scored a single marker for the Kraken.

Rickard Rakell gave the Ducks a 3-2 lead in the middle frame, before DOnato scored his second of the game to tie it heading to the third.

John Gibson made 23 saves in the Anaheim loss.

“They were opportunistic and capitalized on their chances,” Anaheim’s Cam Fowler said. “A couple bad breaks here and there and it’s in the back of your net, but I think we left some out there too. I think we’re definitely searching to find our game right now.”
