FORT WAYNE, Ind – The Komets picked up their second straight overtime win on Thursday night to even the series with the Walleye, 2-2. Game 5 will be played at the Huntington Center on Saturday night.
Toledo dominated most of the play in the first period, out shooting the Komets 13-7 but
neither team scored. Troy Schwab (6th) gave the Walleye the lead at 4:29 of the second period when he buried a rebound past Fort Wayne goaltender Pat Nagle.
Fort Wayne tied the game with a power play goal from Mike Embach at 8:45. In the third period, Toledo had three power play chances but did not score. The overtime saw the Komets get a blue line shot from defenseman James Martin that found the back of the net at 5:33.
Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jeff Lerg stopped 36 of the 38 shots he faced in the contest and has a record of 5-5 in the playoffs. Toledo is 0-15 on the power play in the series against Fort Wayne.
