Knights slip by 67’s once again

For the second time this season, the Ottawa 67’s fell in a hard-fought shootout decision to London Knight.

Matthew Mayich evened the score at 1-1 in the third period, and the Barber Poles got goals from Logan Morrison, and Jack Beck in the shootout, but the Knights were one better, spoiling a brilliant 24-save performance by Max Donoso.

Alec Leonard scored off a faceoff for London 5:30 in, and it took until the 4:48 mark for the 67’s to knot things up, despite numerous glorious chances. Morrison started the play, and Brady Stonehouse got the puck to the net, where Mayich was waiting to cash in on the rebound.

Overtime solved nothing, and in the shootout, Morrison and Beck recorded tallies, but so did George Diaco, Ryan Winterton, and Russian Gazizov for the Knights, earning them the win.
